October Revolution:
16th October:

24th:
· The uprising againstthe Provisional government begins.
· Military RevolutionaryCommittee seized government offices and arrested ministers.
· The winter palace wasshelled.
· Ministers of theProvisional government surrendered.
· The Bolsheviks gainedcontrol.
Effects:
· Industries and bankswere nationalised.
· Russia became aone-party state. The single party being the Bolshevik Party.
During the FebruaryRevolution, the factory workers and the Government Regiments played animportant role. The workers and the regiments joined together. The major impactof the February Revolution was the downfall of the Russian Monarchy and theestablishment of the Petrograd Soviet.
