Question -

Find two consecutive natural numbers whose product is 20.

Answer -

Let first natural number = x
Then second number = x + 1
According to the condition,
x (x + 1) = 20
=> x² + x – 20 = 0
=> x² + 5x – 4x – 20 = 0
=> x (x + 5) – 4 (x + 5) = 0
=> (x + 5) (x – 4) = 0
Either x + 5 = 0, then x = -5 which is not a natural number
or x – 4 = 0, then x = 4
First natural number = 4 and second number = 4 + 1=5
