If x + iy = (a+ib)/(a-ib), prove that x2 + y2 =1



Answer -

Given:

x + iy = (a+ib)/(a-ib)

We know that for acomplex number Z = (a+ib) it’s magnitude is given by |z| = √(a2 + b2)

So,

|a/b| is |a| / |b|

Applying Modulus onboth sides we get,
