Question -

Construct a triangle similar to a given ╬ФXYZ with its sides equal to (3/2) th of the corresponding sides of ╬ФXYZ. Write the steps of construction.



Answer -

Steps of construction :
(i)┬аDraw a triangle XYZwith some suitable data.
(ii)┬аDraw a ray YL makingan acute angle with XZ and cut off 5 equal parts making YY1= Y1Y2┬а=Y2Y3┬а= Y3Y4.


(iii)┬аJoin Y4┬аandZ.
(iv)┬аFrom Y3,draw Y3ZтАЩ parallel to Y4Z and ZтАЩXтАЩ parallel to ZX.
Then ╬ФXтАЩYZтАЩ is the required triangle.
